An Education Guide For Building
Globally Competent Students

This online guide aims to assist teachers in my local community to become
proactive leaders in the global community.
It will provide authentic learning resources for educators and
their students, that are accessible and usable in their classrooms.

What is Global Education and WHY is it important?

Why is global competency an educational priority for
Pembroke Pines Charter Schools?

Picture
  • The Pembroke Pines Charter School District recognizes the priority to prepare our students for a globalized society, making it an important part of the
District's mission statement.  That mission is ongoing, infused throughout the curriculum and ingrained in daily routines.  The high school students and staff can easily recite the school motto by heart, "College, Citizenship, and Community" since they hear it EVERY day!

Our educational goal is to empower future leaders  to be critical thinkers, problem solvers, and caring, competent citizens- ready to take on global issues.  In order to achieve this goal, the Pines Charter community needs to continue to collaborate, grow, and develop a global mindset in our that reaches beyond the classroom walls.  The objective of this online guide is to assist our community in reaching that goal.

How To Use This Guide:

This site is divided into three main pages - Seek, Study, Share, with a fourth Community page, dedicated to global work at my school,
Pembroke Pines Charter High School in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

Each section will provide information and links to resources
that will help you develop globally focused curricula and lessons.

This site will help educational leaders create opportunities for intercultural communication, collaboration, and skill development to
address global issues.
